There are many different kinds of living things. It is easy to see when some things are living or non-living. It is a bit more tricky to decide with other things if they are living or not!

Learning how products are made and transformed

In order to consolidate what we have learnt, we have been playing a game. They have understood how a natural product is transformed into another one which is finally bought in a shop.

We have enjoyed a lot!

AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES

Knowing our country is not an easy task,we should know that Spain is made of 17 communities and 2 autonomous cities (Ceuta and Melilla).

TOWNS AND CITIES

We know that cities and towns are completely different, in order to reaffirm what we know you have these links. Enjoy!!

Games to practice

Enjoy our population unit with these great and interactive games!

PRIMARY, SECONDARY AND TERTIARY SECTORS

And now it's time to have fun!! Enjoy and learn with this game!

ECONOMIC SECTORS

We've been studying different economic sectors, and now we can classify different jobs we know into primary, secondary or tertiary sectors:

In relation to the primary sector, we obtain raw materials directly from nature. Therefore, people can get them from plants (fruits, vegetables, wood and also cotton), animals (milk, eegs, meat and wool), from the sea (fish and mussels) and from the Earth (gold, coal, oil, gas and stones).

Here you have how different products we like are made in factories.

Have fun with this game!

Landscapes

Year 3 students made lovely model landscapes to learn the different elements they can find around every place they visit.

FUN FACT!!

Which is the most populated city in the world?

The most populated city in the world is Tokyo, in Japan, with around  millions inhabitants.

POPULATION CHANGES

The population of a place can grow or go down.

If the number of babies born is bigger than the number fo people who die, the population grows.

If the number of babies born is smaller than the number of people who die, the population goes down.

Did you know that the elderly population of Spain is increasing and the child population is decreasing?

Besides, many people move from villages to town and cities for work. Some people even move to a different country!

People who leave our country to live in a new place are emmigrants.

People who move from their country to live in our country are immigrants.

Sharing our country means respect each other, we have responsibilities but also duties to do.

Let's learn some Citizens' responsibilities!

The circulatory system

Functions of the Circulatory System

  • Respiration - delivers oxygen to the cells and removing carbon dioxide from them
  • Nutrition - carries digested food substances to the cells of the body
  • Waste Removal -  disposes of waste products and poisons that would harm the body if they accumulated
  • Immunity - helps protect the body from disease
  • Cellular Communication - the circulatory system provides a mode of transport for hormones
  • Thermoregulation - the circulatory system transports heat (can both warm and cool body)

Here you have some really useful videos about one of the most important system for our body!

Enjoy them!
